Fished lower lake for four hours. Water temps 67-71. Winds SW/S/SE at 10-15. Strange red sun for last hour of light due to Canadian wildfires.

Did not move a fish that I saw. Boats ripping up the lake everywhere. Concentrated on eight FOW after a buddy boated a 49 about 10 days prior. Went from south of south bayou to north of north bayou.

Tried DCGs, Bucher Tinsel 700 in Elvis, gold 6-inch Flatsticks, 8-inch Phantom in walleye, whopper plopper, Weagle and maybe another lure or two.

Net results were one pike, one bass. About the slowest day I've had on that stretch.

I would Love to see a photo of that beast. Since photos are the only way I ever see Hamlin muskies. Would be refreshing to see one without holes in its head 😀

Unfortunately, the angler in question is very secretive and also does not carry a cell phone. However, he's a good enough friend that I know what he tells me is true. I will simply say a Suick-like lure took the fish on the lower lake. And he'd kill me if he knew I told anyone that much.

Ill have to get a hold of you to fish sometime. I find my motivation on that lake is hard to keep.
