Happy that the water clarity was still above average compared to previous trips to Thorn, thought it might be dingy with the rain.
Moved a handful of edge related fish casting. Bucktails, jerkbaits, and topwater moved fish. Had 3 fish attempt to eat, all missed hooks. An interesting note, first cast with a topwater prop bait went into some weeds, I rip it out, and begin my retrieve… shortly after… woosh, a nice fish misses. As the bait approaches I see a mid 40's following with weeds dragging alongside hanging out it's mouth. At least the fish took the weeds off my bait for me.
Trolled for 10 minutes, as the phone is ringing with the wife wondering when I will be home, a rod doubles over…. easy decision, I pick up the rod… but lose the fish when it jumps and throws my Moski Teardrop. Called it a day after that.
