Water low to mid-50s, good clarity and water level, just a little high. Weeds seemed behind some but not sure.
Got one in the net, upper 30 inch range, and had some other musky contact. Got a decent pike and lost a really nice pike, bummed on that also since they tend to stay pinned better than musky and I thought I had her, no problem.
The beat up looking musky bled some from where hooked, and stuggled to revive despite in the water release otherwise going fine. The experience is part of why I'm not a big fan of the year-round catch and immediate release bass push that's going on. Only six weeks or so to give our fish a short break and they need to be able to try to spawn and recover from that instead of having no deterrent to chase them with suitable predator baits, and weakened fish gobbling up small bass lures and subject to a likely high post-release mortality.
