water temp 73
depyh 3 to 15ft
water color dark

spent most of the time on the flooding with only a few pike, however my nine year old lost a nice one while playing with a bass buzzbait alongside the boat, he hadn't made a cast in a while, just figure 8ing back and forth talking to himself , then I heard a splash, drag scream and line snap, I turned and saw my son with a stunned look on his face and total speachless, needless to say he's hooked now.

Spent some time upstream of Mcphees landing and boated 1 about 30inches on a 7" suick

I love it!! Was it a ski? Did he just have a spinning reel & rod? Did he start using a muskie rod after that. I wish you could have gotten a picture of his face after that!!

My son said it was a muskie, unfortunetly he was using a medium spinning outfit with 17lb braid and no steelleader, because of the open eye on the buzzbait, I tied it directly to the line. I didn't think much of it since he was mostly playing and not fishing. He's not quite ready for bait casting equipment
