Wt 47-48
Visibility of zero in the north channel and anywhere from 1-10 ft in the bay.
Girlfriend has been wanting to make the trip down for a while and we decided to make it happen Sunday. Started the day in the north channel. It was bitter cold, the fish weren't biting, and the vis was terrible so we headed out to the bay in search of cleaner water. Found cleaner water and with it came the plethora of other boats. Fished all through the dirty and clear water with only one pike to show for our efforts. Didn't look like anybody was having much success but we stayed persistent and grinded it out all day. After throwing rubber all day Sam decided she wants to throw a dadson for a change of pace. Wasn't long and she had one explode on it from out of nowhere as she was coming into the eight.(very cool to watch and I wish I had the gopro on.) after a short battle she managed to get her to the net. The old saying third times a charm fit to the t. Her third muskie ever and biggest fish I've had the pleasure of holding at 51.5×24. Fish was definitely eating well and it was an awesome experience for the three of us after a long day of grinding. Can't wait to get back down for the outing now.

That is awesome. Congrats to her. She is having quite the first year of muskie fishing.

A November pig on a bucktail eh? Maybe I need to change my late fall tactics…

I've read a lot about blades being successful in the fall with cold temps. Just slowing everything down. My mind screams spinnerbaits I feel it has more play in speed and changing levels better than a bucktail… But I no nothing!!! Lol I've proven that time in and time out. I dream of that fish soon I will hold it… Soon in my head is 5 to 10 yrs of grinding it out! 🙂 congrats!!!

Women's intuition. If someone tells you they don't eat bucktails in October and November, ignore them. It can vary lake to lake, just like surface baits in October/November.

im with Will on that. I always laugh when people think gliders/twitch and only slow moving baits work in the fall…
