Spent a quick 4 hours on Round Lake today.
Water temp 66. Water fairly clear, though not as clear as it will get.
Weeds all over, junk weeds to the surface in the west end in some spots 7 feet or less. Some nice green cabbage to be found, the 10 foot line isn't fully developed yet. Nice weeds out to 15 feet. Marked a ton of baitfish out over 20-25 feet.
Nothing to show for my efforts. Still searching for my first fish over 30" on the season. Thought the warming trend with clouds might have them going, but couldn't locate the fish today. Looks like a group of Illinois muskie hunters had the cabins rented out as there were 5 other boats on the lake, and all looked to be targeting muskies. They were doing a lot of trolling, that lake was being pounded. Didn't see anybody else catch a fish either.
Should have gone elsewhere, oh well.
