Spent a 3 day weekend fishing up in God's country with Adam. Weather was sunny and hot all weekend. We saw the reports of water levels being real high and the water being real cold but when we arrived Friday morning the water levels were back down to normal levels. Water was still fairly cold though with temps in the low 60s on day one but I think it reached 67 by the end of day 2. Water was also real clear compared to what I have seen there before. Clarity was probably 3 or 4 feet or so with the usual red stain.

Fished Dollarville and past Mud Lake areas on day one. Adam got one early in the morning and I got one late that day. I also messed up one in the figure 8. Had it going around a few times and it definitely wanted to eat but then I dug my rod into weeds and it spooked. Day one was fairly slow for Dollarville standards with not many follows. Also fished a new stretch of the river further west which was real cool. Big thanks to Duke for giving us some advice on new areas to try. Always love adventuring to new areas in the UP.

Day two we fished from McPhee landing all the way down past the Sage river inlet. Adam went 2 for 4 and I was 2 for 2. Another day of very few follows with eaters away from the boat which is pretty unusual for that place in my experience but I'll take that over 25 fish seen and none in the net any day. Both of Adam's fish were jaw tagged which was cool so we took measurements and reported them to the DNR. 0081 and 0089 were the tag numbers so they must have been tagged at or around the same time as each other which makes sense since they were both caught not too far from each other.

Having netted 6 fish in the first 2 days we were happy with the trip at that point and decided to explore some new waters for a chance at a big fish. All 6 fish were under 40" most in the mid-upper 30s range so we were ready for something bigger. Decided to venture out to the big water of Munuscong Bay, something I had been wanting to fish for a real long time. Ill report that trip on another post.

JT my boat is a gold mod-V Lowe. We ran into one group Friday morning that was leaving around 9:30 and that night we talked to a guy and his kid in a row boat with a little tiller on it. Saturday night there was someone muskie fishing a couple bends behind us they took off up river after a little while. Its too bad we didn't run into each other its always good to meet other mma members out on the water
