Fished from 8:00-3:00.
Water temp 64-71 on upper.
Clarity- dark stain with 3-4' vis, a little clearer towards narrows.
Weeds- not very developed in a lot of the normal areas yet. A few dense beds of cabbage in 6-9FOW. The hodgepodge weed beds in the shallow flats by Victory park are not topped out yet and easy to fish over.
So this was my annual "OMG look at the stocking report, they put 2893849384 fish in Hamlin, its gotta be ON!!!" freakout and like normal I completely ignored the fact that noone ever catches fish on this lake. After a brief tour of some spots to check out the weed situation I headed up to the shallow flats up from victory park and forced myself to fish up there and low and behold on my third long drift I caught a muskie! WOOOOO! But it was only 28" long. DOH! That would be the extent of the muskie action for the day. I did pop several nice largemouth on bucktails and a couple hammer handles. The pike were super active in the morning swiping and flashing at boatside but only a couple connected thankfully. They completely vanished once the weather blew through and the sun came out. The wind got real bad so we called it quits early.
