Me & my dad hit the big water yesterday. The weather was perfect water temps were about 70. We put in at selfridge and ran up towards fair haven. I caught a 18" Small Mouth on a bucktail. We also caught a 30" northern trolling. I did have one small Muskie follow my bucktail up to the boat real hot but as soon as it saw the boat it spooked. I think if I would have had another 10' of line out it would have bit. We also had a nice fish hit one of the trolling rods probably 40" but it surfaced and spit the bait out mid-air [smilie=bangtard.gif] Overall it was a fun day but losing that fish was disappointing.

The fish were weird yesterday. Short striking. We got 5 in the bag (34,35,39,42.5,47.5) and lost 10 others that all were just grabbing the tails on our big rubber. Not many follows though. Maybe only 5 total with a few of those being absolute giants. One was estimated 54+.
Sounds like a terrible day on the water.
