Wanted to squeeze out before the big bash tourney, hoping to find a few fish before 1000 baits swam in front of their noses on the weekend. Got work to do tonight, so I'll skip the usual longwinded-ness & go with the skinny…or at least moderatewinded-ness: 2 boats, 4 hardcore-ish guys (Corey, Duke, John E Sox & me), east winds, muddy – 1' vis in spots, 73 surface temps, hot dogs & burgers in the boat (a nice add, thanks John E), beverages & unbridled f-ing (frothing) restraint sums up our time on the water. The fish were very spotty (I tell you what, pretty damn proud of that pun…), but the few places we found them they were in bunches…& they liked baits. 4 dandies hooked, 3 landed. 50, 51, 53 & some hefty mid 40s were the highlights. 20 something hit the net…but a fair amount of sub legals were mixed in. Probably time now to give her a rest and search out something new & north.

I have a buddy with a large flat bottom river boat and he has a charcoal grill in it at all times. Every time we spend a day on the river we grill out, sometimes its some pretty impressive spreads too. There's nothing better during a cold fall/spring day chasing steelies on the river and having a hot meal. We get LOTS of jealous looks.
Nice job on the fish!
