Water temp 37-38. Isolated weed patches in 15-16'.
Unbelievable how the lake went from 99% frozen on Tuesday to being 99% open today. Fished 12:45-7:30pm. At 1:20, thought I hooked a PB musky. Fought hard, made several long runs ripping drag. When I got it up on the surface, I then noticed why. I had snagged it. I was trolling and believe the fish missed or went over the top of the spoonplug. One hook was caught just above the belly about 3/4 back. Got it in the net, a little over 40" on the bumpboard. Swam away strong.
Just before 7pm, caught it's twin, this time with the hook in it's mouth. Again trolling a spoonplug. Both fish were real heavy, probably 18 lb range. I can only imagine what an upper 40's would weigh this time of year.
