Had a few hours to fish with Tyler in the afternoon and fished from about 3:00 until 6:00.
Water temp: 48-49
Weeds: Deep coontail is downright annoying in some areas 10' off the bottom.
Clarity: Perfect, not too clear and not too stained 8-10' vis.
Ran into a bunch of fish in a short time and Tyler was able to get his biggest yet (see photo forum). This really put the cherry on a memorable weekend of fishing.
Temps were down to 46 yesterday. I trolled around looking for weeds and baitfish, didn't find too many baitfish, but marked lots of good weedgrowth 10' off the bottom [smilie=wink.gif]
I fished those spots from 1-6, hitting them again at dusk and had 2 quick follows right at dusk. Both fish came from deep water and changed their minds as soon as they saw the boat. Both would have been PB's by a longshot and were coming in HOT. Did catch one pike that was around 30", though the eternal musky skunking continues…
