Started out wanting to head to Clam but the weather said cold and rainy so we went south instead. Water temps 60.5 when we got there and 65 when we left. Water was clear but with the nice overcast and wind ripples the fish were active and following. Fresh Green Cabbage was growing in three spots and the fish were on them. 5 contacts total all on Black Buck tails. NOTHING else moved fish. Most of the fish were in the western half of the lake but we did contact one all the way up in the eastern corner. Nothing boated but it was good to see something other than bull dawgs getting the attention. Black with gold blades and purple tinsel was the hot color of the day. I had one go through the eight 4 times and the fish missed the bait twice. This lake has some real nice ones in it you just have to solve the problem of ultra clear water. Long casts and fast moving baits help. Also having cloud cover and a nice breeze helps. My guess is fishing this lake at night will be outstanding. Little to no pleasure boat traffic yet but they were getting ready for summer docking ski boats and personal watercraft all day. Weekends will be a zoo during the day. Our next trip there will be a night fish. Mike

You're right, that lake is as bad as any I know once summer hits. Weekdays are usually slow on traffic though. This lake gets quite a bit of panfishing pressure, but that doesn't bother me at all. I spent 4 straight long days out there last week, and it was tough, but did boat a few so it wasn't all bad. I run into a lot of Indiana guys on this lake. One of them told me saturday morning that a guide that he had hired in Inidana told him about this lake.

I guess I didn't know that. I see people violating that rule all the time in the summer.
