Water levels were down slightly from previous years but, still within historic norms. Water temperatures ranged from 68 – 74 dependent on the day, wind, and location. Weed growth was below average. however, the cabbage that was present was healthy. The overall area of coverage was less than we had experienced in prior years. Water clarity was typical for this system, stained and 3 to 4 feet visibility with the right light and surface conditions.
The muskies were relating to rock or rock & weed areas. Weed only spots provided little if any activity. We had a group of four and this was one of our better years as we caught 21 muskies over the course of the week with another 43 follows. Wind conditions on five of the days made sighting fish difficult. Three of the fish boated proved to be personal bests for individuals with two 48" and one 47". All types of baits were used with bucktails and topwaters providing the most success
