Water temp: 53 – 58
Clarity: Stained not as bad as usual 4" to 6"
Wind: all over the map!!
Air temps: low 50's to high 60's

Richard Schroeder MMA member from IN. got a 43" on Mon and missed one on Tues. Bird and I didn't see one. 6 fish were caught out of the resort that week. A 48" on Sat on a Pacemaker and another 48" on Wed on a creeper. We had E – NE winds 10 to 20 for 5 days, really screwed things up, Wed it laid down flat dead calm, Thur big cold front came thru NW winds 20 to 30 with gusts to 45. Not alot you can do about the weather. New things were going to be strange, first hour Rich Lamaglass rod snapped in half on cast, Bird had a backlash from hell (fixed that no backing on reel). So i figured I was next, mine waited till the next day. When we got on a spot I stepped down from the front of the boat to pick up a rod, lost my balance went backwards and put my elbow thru the windsheild. Thurs my trolling motor using the footpedal won't turn to the right, you can turn the head to the right and it works. So I don't know if it's in the footpedal or the unit itself, will have to take it to D&R Sports. Saw alot of Eagles, Loons, Kingfishers no otters. Colors were really coming on. Caught smallies, LM, pike, didn't try for walleye or crappies. All and all we had a great time, really needed this.

What kind of trolling motor is it? If its electric steer probably the pedal. Maybe get a extra to have for a long trip, I've went through quite of few with my powerdrives.

MinnKota 55# thrust. Forgot to mention we went over to Jenks Bait & Tackle on the other side of the flowage. Should have gotten some of Randy's suckers. There was 2 in there if I got them they wouldn't have stripper names. I would have named one Moby & the other USS Enterprise, they were 24" long!! 😯

It's the footpedal, borrowed the neighbors footpedal and it works fine. A new footpedal is $100. Sent a e-mail to D&R Sports to see what it costs for the board (cord is attached to the board).

If it's like my footpedal, the board costs $52.50 plus $10 shipping.

Steve,

I had the same problem last year with my Minn Kota foot pedal. A friend suggested flushing the contacts with WD40 to clean out any dirt. It worked! There may be others solutions but thought I'd pass this on.
