Spent a good 11-12 hours on Skegemog saturday, 6am-230ish and then at night from 630-930ish. Water was dead calm all day until evening so I got the feeling the fish were real spooky. It was nice to have cooler weather up there for once tho with it being in the upper 60s til late morning.
Right off the bat had one flash on top water that missed the bait completely and it followed to near the boat but wouldnt take it. It was probably only in the low 30 inches tho but still got the addrenaline goin early…unfortunately it was the only fish I saw the rest of the very long day….tried everything from casting top water and double 10s to trolling but got nothin
Hit Clam the next morning til around noon. Another slow day. Got one little pike on a Double 10 who had no business hitting a bait that size since he was only about 15 inches…but nothin else
Put on a plastic for bass late morning on Saturday to avoid the skunk and caught 2 smallies in about 7 casts before goin back to the big baits…took the edge off a little but really is no consolation…
This game is definitly a humbling one…

Was that you when the idiot cut between us going 35mph from Skeg to Elk?
Yep that was me…and your boat was the one I saw
Theres way too many people that love to do that out there…one time saw someone busting threw the Torch River and smashed his prop into a stump. Messed the engine up bad, think it probably broke his propeller off cuz he was reving the engine but going no where, definitly deserved it
You guys do any better than I did?
