Well, figured I'd try the Lebaron/Berry thing and hit some of the dams along the Thorn today. Tried the Middleville upper and lower, and the lower of the 84th St. Not a thing. Tried some Q-Burts, Shallow Invader, Super Shad Rap. But without waders, my access to water was pretty limited. Only had black rubber buckle boots so I could only go out a few feet. Felt good to be on the water, of course. I'll have to try again before the season closes, and see if I can get Lady Luck on my side.

Which rocks? The big rocks along the edge used for erosion control are exposed. The whole west side is all shallow water. I was hitting a rocky bottom constantly while twitching back to shore.

Hmmm, there's got to be some holes somewhere close to those dams I'm thinking… otherwise this would mostly explain no contact! Good luck and good try!

Yes, I'm pretty sure there are some holes. The other problem I had is all the slack water I really wanted to fish at Middleville was all fenced off. From what I've heard about the 84th st where the holes are, all THAT was fenced off, and Consumers' was building a new plant there.

yeah, at the 84th there is some rock piles with some grass in them, I never fished it but I know a couple of guys that went down there and caught some good bass and my dad had seen one guy just down stream walking with a 40 inch pike.

no, its between 100th and 108th. I ushally just slide my 10' boat down a little hill on the coldwater (east side of whitneyville) and go down about 1/4 mile till I get to the thorne

Just upstream from 84th, no dam right there but some nice water. I have had some real good fishin there, but no musky encounter. I wish I had the time to fish all of the river in that area- there are a BUNCH of fat & happy muskies in that stretch I just know it!
