Water Temps – 47
Clarity – 1-2 ft

Day 1 – started with clear skies with a light breeze and a little warm. Fog in the morning with a nice algae bloom. Fished from 11:00am – 1:00pm went to get my trailer and came back fished from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. This was my second time on ovid and I was struggling to even keep my lure clean, trying to find the weed edge was difficult and I wasn't fishing very effectively at all. Talked to Hemi who told me fishing has been difficult and did his best to discourage any hope of me finding fish or coming back 😀

Day 2 – Overcast with a nice chop. Fished from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. Still struggling to learn this lake and how to fish it effectively. My first day was spent mostly throwing a Bulldawg and I decided to change over to a Booty Call Spinner bait. First hour produced a small 30" fish which came in hard and spent almost a full minute in the 8 before eating. That was pretty excited since it was my first Figure 8 fish. The rest of the day was again spent with me struggling with the weed edge and keeping my lure clean and out of the weeds. I've felt pretty defeated out there the last few days and leave the lake doubting myself pretty good. Should get out there a few more times in the coming week/weekend. Let me know if you guys have any advice. Thanks.

Keeping any fish in an 8 that long then getting it to eat, and boating it too, is outstanding! Wish I had some tips, only got there twice this year and pounded weed edges, along with some trolling, and had some luck. For what it's worth I had done OK in Nov there in the past on glide baits.

try slower baits, when the temps get really low the fish like the slower stuff.
I usually move a lot of fish on topwater working them really slow in the fall, but also plastics have worked well too. Tubes, bulldawgs etc..
