Sorry for the late post. Fished Hudson Monday with my father-in-law from 8-5:30. Water temps ranged from 58 – 65deg. The "big back bay" had the warmest water.
Very windy and blue bird skies until it was time to leave. Waves pounding the bank created a lot of chocolate milk. Otherwise the water was 6-16" visibility.
Had a solid 40" fish hit a bulldawg, but one head shake and the bait was out. Had 3 other follows. The fish weren't lazy, but weren't agressive either. All 3 follows were a quick appearance at the boat right behind the bait and then off they went. They didn't want to follow into the figure 8. Fished a large variety of baits, only a regular size shallow bulldawg generated any interest.
It was a very therapeutic day for me. I've been working huge hours for the past 6 months. It was awesome to be out on the water and see some fish. Sorry I can't make the Hudson outing, it's one of the few days my wife has to work.
