Sucked. Lake looked great- water, weeds, temps (62-67), but didn't get a look at any fish. Convinced some fish had to be shallow, I stubbornly kept fishing them there with no luck. Fished Friday evening on the warm sunny side of the front, and had a couple hours to give Saturday morning on the cool rainy side of the front. Neither recipe pushed fish shallow for me. I'm sure the lake is going to UNCORK right about the time of the outing fellas!

Not that I relish your bad luck Duke, but I am GREATLY HEARTENED to know that it's not "just me"! Those dayum fish have me stymied. I was there Wed and Saturday, and didn't even SEE a fish let alone catch one, and I'm starting to feel even less adequate than normal. Embarassed

I tried shallow, I tried breaklines, I tried deep; I casted, I trolled. NOTHING! [smilie=attention.gif]

I saw you out there working the beach basin as I drove in, and out of the park Saturday morning Tom, and I thought "yeah now that's a guy who's got it together, he's out there just yanking them out of the depths I bet" Sorry to hear it didn't work out that way. I don't know why they aren't showing, but they did pull the same trick last year as well. It wasn't until the last week and half of May last year that the fish came out of the woodwork- but DID THEY EVER. So, we'll see if that happens again, or if they are all downstream in the Maple instead… There were some fish caught on Friday though, I talked to another boat who had been out all day, and had got some fish to commit. They were not doing anything creative or different (no offense meant in that).

Yeah; I'm in the right place, doing the right thing, at the wrong time.

Or, I'm in the wrong place, at the right time, doing the right thing.

Or, I'm in the right place, at the right time, doing the wrong thing.

Or, … THERE ARE NO FISH IN OVID. 👿 Then it's not my fault.

I had to do that at Campau. Like I said in my post, I didn't see a fish until I was plowing the lip of my DDD into the bottom. Sticking it right in their faces, let it sit a little while. I could just picture them with just their noses poking out of the weeds at the base of the weedline.
