Fished 5/2 from 8:30 to 3; the wind was blowing hard from 11-ish throughout the rest of our day, making it hard to cast or control the boat. Water was 57-58°F, tea stained and muddy; about 18"-2 foot visibility. Lots of dead milfoil, together with curly-leaf coming up 3'-5' most everywhere shallower than 8-10 fow. No fish seen. Both days taked to a few other muskie boats and no one was having any success AFAIK.
5/3 fished from 8:30 to 3:00; wind was a little tamer, skies were high cirrus. Boated one fish, a 34.5" which starts the year for me and first-slimed the new bump board tenHaaf donated to the Banquet. [smilie=biggrin.gif]
Good job to get one in the net! It was a tough day, had that one lost on top early, saw just one other follow, and that was also on top in the early afternoon out of desperation since I couldn't get any other contact casting. Had 2-3 rips trolling but not sure, you'd think at least one would hook up, each time the lure was clean yet only one possible tooth mark in the wood, wheras many times good hits clearly show on wood baits. So maybe snags that broke clean fast, or who knows. The water didn't look as good as last spring at this point, all the rains I guess, at least that's the excuse I'm going to use for today!
