There are no muskies in Ovid… We provided another datum to back that up today. Didn't see even so much as a fishy shadow…. 🙄 I think they're still vacationing in Cancun.

Beauty to be on the water, though: air in the 50s to 60 with very high skies, water between high 30s to high 40s depending on when and where, barely a breath of wind, visibility around 25-30" like dark tea, lots of dead standing milfoil still, with curly-leaf pondweed and coontail coming up, but not to too far progressed yet. More open water than I've seen in the lake in the last 2 years I've been looking.

Got to wet some new baits and say hello to some MMA regulars, still. A great day, even with no fish.

Good to see you & Paul on the water! "Beauty" would not be the word that comes right to mind about that water, but I know what you mean! It was a great feeling, but the water was atrocious. Lots of detritus/bottom scum floating on the surface due to spring turnover. Surface temps were 40 – 45 by the time we bagged it. We did hook one decent fish though that was lost on the cold water death roll at boatside. But at least we got a glimpse of one, came on a deep suspending crankbait (right after we talked to you fellas). But that was it
