Fished most of the day, good clarity I thought, weeds seasonal, water up to 52 in spots. Had good contact in the morning and one short window in the afternoon, got the first one early, a chunky 39, and was pumped for a multiple fish day but you know how that goes sometimes, no need for the net after that. Lost one I shoulda' had for sure, on a while, and missed two but just nippers, very tough to hook. Saw just one better one I couldn't get to take, all others under 40". Trolled too long out of laziness, no rips at all, casting seemed to be the only way to go today.
Just to cap off Joe's day, I fished the last 2 hours of light without raising a fin. Lots of little bluegills on the surface, but the blow-ups I saw looked mostly like bass except for one probable small musky. My girls had fun out there anyway, what a hoot, not too many days in the boat left for them this year. I was a little surprised that the water temp had jumped 3 degrees with no sun.
