Tim and I got out today trolling the big lake… For some reason, each year this weekend does not seem to disapoint. Today was no exception. NW winds 20MPH 3-4 footers most of the morning. Fished 16-18 FOW in Canada. Water slight stain, fish were hitting small jointed cranks 20/1 to 40/2. Tim lost a really big fish first thing this morning… However we still managed a pretty good day. Went 5 for 6 with a couple dinks, a 44, and a couple larger specimens. Congrats Tim!

Chad and I had a great day on the water and what a treat to get a PB. I was explaining to Chad that I found it amazing that I've fished for musky for about 20 years, and some good lakes around the country and Canada to boot, and have not caught a 50" until yesterday, albeit, trolling. What a thrill and my thanks to Chad.
It was a very good day… A bit sureel looking back on it. That big one we lost will haunt for a while. I still remember quite vividly losing a monster fishnig with Mike and Tom a few years ago. These were very different fish… Basiclly glued to the bottome until right near the boat. Then as you start to carefully work them up in the watercolum, you get a true appreciation for their size and weight. Big long head pumps in a sweeping motion; no head shakes, just long heavy sweeps… And just like that, they are gone… 40 lbs???? more??? who knows… But I will keep going back till I can verify it… Got to luv the muskie…
Awsome guys and congrats Tim [smilie=applause.gif] . Chad, I know that feeling from 2006 when I almost got completely spooled off the Rabbit ears. 20 and 4 on a down rod and the fish emptied a 30 d convector Okuma of 30 # P-line I had to thumb the spool and then it toe to toe for about 20 seconds. Those long sweeping head shakes and she was off. Hooks bent . Then 07 on Torch . 12 inch deepthreat, fish was A super tanker on for about 20 seconds on a tight drag with 50 pound Big game. Damned near pulled me out the back. Those huge wide head sweeps. Haunts me , and makes me mad that I am stuck here building this house. ARRRGGG!!!!! Any way good luck the rest of this seasonb and once again congrats on a great day. I am glad the new boards did thier job. Mike and Michelle
