Steve was my guide for a day from 8am-8pm. Windy with gusts up to 20mph and water temp around 67. Steve forgot to invite the muskies to today's event but the day was still fun. We had absolutely nothing, no hits, follows or signs of any fish in this lake. I also went through my entire tackle box trying everything. Steve did have a bass hit his lure but got off. All and all the day was still a success for me! Steve was open and willing to show me the entire lake and key muskie spots. Anyone interested in fishing Hudson should connect with Steve first as he can help point you in the right direction. The "guide for a day" was a great idea and even though we never caught any muskie it still was a great day of fishing. Steve, thanks so much for all your help and advice. Your a great fisherman and even more important, a great person. I look forward to fishing with you again and maybe next time you won't forget to invite the fish. Ha! I also hope there will be other "guide for a day" auctions because this is a great idea. As Steve said today, "That's why it's called fishing and not catching".

Scott, it was a pleasure fishing with you. MMA keeps getting better people all the time. I new when I got up Fri morning I was coming down with a cold and I've got it big time now, I hope you don't get it. I didn't care about myself and all I wanted to do is get you a fish. I know alot of people are not having a good year so far, but most have at least 1 fish, I have zip and am really starting to doubt myself.

Awesome, that is what it's all about!

Thanks Steve for donating the day on Hudson and thanks Scott for bidding. Catching a fish is just a bonus when with a "guide" but the knowledge you can gain from someone that knows the water can cut years off the learning curve!!

I agree Will. I actually learned so much in one day and really spending time out on the water with another Muskie Hunter is fun. Since I'm new to the sport I don't really have any muskie fishing partners. Now, I have MMA and look forward to the next bidding on the "guide for a day". I've already got my eyes on some lakes/guides I'd like to fish with. I'd love to try some new lakes and look forward to joining another guide soon. This is a great organization and I can't believe how much I've learned in such a short period of time not only about muskie fishing but also the importance of releasing this fish back into the water. I've always been a catch and release guy on all species but never knew how important the actual "release" is on muskies. Most people don't realize how fragile these predators can be. I'm very proud of this organization/conservation group and will continue to help spread the message. Keep up the good work and bring on the "guide for a day" bidding. I'm ready to go again!

Jim, yeah I woke up this morning in the Lazyboy, didn't make it to the bed. This cold is really kicking my butt today, I hope I haven't given this to Scott. I was supposed to fish today with Mike Root (AKA The Netster), but about halfway through yesterday I new that wasn't going to happen. So I decided to stay longer and was determined to get him a fish. I told Scott when he did the fishing report to say he got nothing and had a Bum guide!! I was surpriseed my hand's held out really good yesterday, they didn't even cramp uo like usual. Steve

Steve don't let the fish get you down!! They do it to all & the best of us. Sounds like you did a great job anyway and you are a credit to MMA. But I know how you feel- I hate the pressure and the feeling of trying to get fish for someone, you want it so bad. Doing the "guide" thing last year I managed to lose a good fish in the net for my partner… I can't tell you how bad that felt. I'm still sorry Tim D.!!!

Duke! Not to worry!…"forget about it". It happens! Sometimes these crazy fish just don't want to be netted. That fish did a disappearing act. The trip was a great experince thanks to you and Pete!
