I shouldn't have to worry, right, an '06 4-stroke, butt.....on another site, one man said to check availability of Honda parts before buying. Yamaha parts are easier to come by. Anyone have a Honda or know/hear of any stories of hard-to-get parts from friends, co-workers, relatives? Thanks.

Honda does have some occasional delays in parts delivery. they do not believe in stocking large amounts of parts just in case they break. If there is not a history of failure then you may have to wait if you have an odd failure. We have have had to wait 3 to 4 months for parts before. DON'T let that scare you it is extremely rare. I love mt Yamaha but would kick it to the curb for a Honda without hesitation. There are two outboards in the world Hondas and those who wish they were. Nothing wrong with the other brands they are just the best. That said Run Honda oem filters and oil and carry extra spark plugs that are exactly what it calls for. If they use a bprhs-11 then make sure you get the -11 dont let some idiot convince you it wont make a difference because it will. Occasionaly the plugs will carbon and cause them to run poorly. Just because it is a four stroke doesnt make it bulletproof just damn close. As for the guy who said check on availability, of what?? how can you guess what may fail? He may be the unfortunate one who had to wait for a part and is now bitter. If you take any product in the world and sell enough eventually you will have a failure it happens.

Thanks for the tips. I wanted to get the motor locally but he would have to order one and the price i got for an '06 was great. I am thinking about a Yammie in a couple of years when I get a Lund, but I will see how this one runs. He had to order it so I won't see if for awhile. They will store the rig til I need it, wether it's next month or April. Should I get a transom saver????? It's only a 15 hp, weighs 108 lbs. or close to it. Thanks.

I am getting a better price from the dealer where I found this Naden. Local dealer couldn't come close. After reading my last post it made me see how readers may wonder about why I chose one over the other. Again, are transom savers worthwhile? Thanks again.
