Speaking of Gander Mtn, anyone use their rods. They had a selection at the portage/K-zoo store from 6ft to 7'6". Looked nice and were relatively light, handles felt nice etc.
I assume all rods come with guides compatable with braids? They also had 300 yds of 80lb Power Pro for $35 seemed like an OK price but I've not seen the big spool anywhere else

LonB,
Ive never really heard anything bad about Gander Mtn. Musky rods. Seems like they would be a good choice, and the price is right!
A Will Schultz giant beach towel  Musky Dan will have to get himself one of those, with Will being his Musky Hero and all

OK.. easy now... It's not a towel, it's a blanket and NO ONE will be drying any body parts with it, especially Dan! My wife will be allowed to wrap herself in it...

Are those available at all Gander Mtn. stores? Or is that just a local

Back to the Gander Guide Series musky rods, I bought one this past season and they aren't as rigid as the St. Croix Rods but aren't bad for casting bucktails. I bought the 7' model and used braided line with no problems. For the money, I would say it is a decent bucktail rod.
