No not even close- that was 4 years ago! I have no idea how the picture surfaced there, or why. Some people catch those fish every year, but not me! Thanks though fellas, it was the highlight of my career so far

How does that Fittante replica look four years later? I was just looking at pictures from that banquet the other night and how awesome that fish looked. I need one from him in my house... maybe two.

The Fittante replica is immaculate! Looks exactly the same condition as the day it arrived, and its nice to know it always will. Durability is such a benefit vs. a skin mount (as if anyone reading this needs more reasons). You can handle it without degrading the finish, or worrying about cracking or breaking fins. Its a great teaching aide to show the proper gill/Leech Lake Lock hold for beginners. I used a hacksaw to reproduce the fin & spine clip the fish had from the DNR, and without exaggeration it was hard work to SAW through that material.

Hack saw... Yikes... I'm not sure if I would have had the guts to do that. Joe would have done it for you, he did a great job putting the chicken wing tag in the gill plate of the replica Dad got from him. He really likes doing unique stuff like that, I couldn't believe how excited he was to be able to put the tag in that fish.

Too funny! I sent that pic in ages ago, along with a slew of big-ish fish that fell for sq burts...based on advice from Pete M, I was hoping for some freebies to show up at the door in exchange. Now that he isn't associated with mania tackle anymore, it will probably be a long wait!
