Rumor has it they sprayed around the docks at Murray recently. How bad is this for the muskie fishing? When might it return to normal bath water??? :?

The spraying isn't that bad. However, the spaying will kill weeds. Those weeds will no longer produce oxygen, the decaying weeds will use oxygen. Combined those will reduce the dissolved oxygen levels for a while. When you add in the hot water we have right now, it makes the likelyhood of catch and release mortality very high.

Will is correct, but I'm still working on several projects to avoid chemicals through IPM practices. This week we have to get our post grant reports in for the Eurasian milfoil weevil project we're doing in Muskegon Co Duck Lake as a demonstration for other lakes in our West Michigan area.
