What a special fish! That had to be great fun to see and bring that old beast to the boat.

Just watched michigan out of doors show and they were taggin sturgeon in St. Clair. The DNR guys said it was extremely rare to get a 70 incher in that water. Truly memorable fish

I saw the same show swanzey, and all i could think about was "70x40" sadly my son was constantly interrupting me during the explanation on age, but i did hear that over 60 inches is less than 1/2 in. growth a year, and from 40-60 was 1 in. per year, so that would be 40 years after it was 40"!!!! thats an old fish! and from other info it looks like they get to about 40" in the first 15-20 years, so from their stats that fish is a good 55-60 yrs old!

I saw that also. I couldn't help but wish they would do a segment like that on the musky stocking, maybe help educate a few more people. The only thing musky related I've seen on that show is trolling LSC on a charter boat, which if anything gives people a false idea of what musky fishing is really like.

They had a show on Murray where they were ice fishing for muskies.. but at least they didn't mention the lake. Although im sure enough people found out about it. Prob why people were hearing so much about them getting killed this past winter there

I forgot about that one, I saw that as well. It wasn't really a "musky" segment, it was more just about that guy making videos with his aqua vue about mostly pike fishing, but they did have that clip of him landing that musky.

I'm not trying to say anything bad about Michigan Out of Doors show, I have been watching for as long as I can remember. I just think it would be cool to see an informative musky segment.

I emailed that guy ice fishing at Murray. He was all geeked on learning about how and where to catch Muskies, but when I tried to inform him on all that goes into these fish I never recieved a reply back after that.
