You are correct. The Daiwa reel does have 2 more ball bearings then the St. Croix. Hopefully, someday St. Croix might offer the left handed version in the 300 size.

As I am sure most of you are aware the St. Croix reels are an exact duplicate of the Daiwa Millionaire CV-Z baitcasting reels. Daiwa makes the CV-Z in the left handed version.
