Bummer. We have seen panfish kills and a couple dead muskies in past springs on Budd, but had attributed those to winter/spawning losses. Though the numbers sure were always much higher than seen at other lakes. Sounds like this is even more widespread. Wonder if a lake owner is doing unauthorized w...

Had a nearly identical conversation two weeks before the season last year at Frank's sport shop in Linwood. I took it as an opportunity to hand out info on the club - it's a good idea for us all to keep some business card-type info in our wallets. Include the website and maybe a personal email for f...

Some good discussion here for sure. Great, actually. I love reading this crap. Not enough time right now to comment on all I would like to, so just a few thoughts to toss out there...this may be a bit of a ramble since I'm deep into some multi-tasking (doing work, watching hoops, on the phone and ch...

Pretty cool pics. I remember watching some real monsters spawn in Gun years ago - actually got to watch the big gal spill eggs over weeds, with the male in tow doing his thing. Those fish weren't nearly as beat up as the ones pictured here though. Thanks for the link, neat stuff - too bad they aren'...

A complete blast as usual. Some very good 'what-can-we-do-to-bring-back-our-fishery'-thoughts, comments and suggestions for sure. Here are email quotes from 2 of our non-member newbies that came: "What an awesome group of dedicated guys you have up here Pete. Once you let folks know that we were bra...

Well, right now I'm involved in an a semi-heated exchange with some customer service and manager-type folks at Abu. They are saying the same thing - "...we've never fixed any reel for free that we know of..." I mentioned that their reel repair skills must be beyond phenomenal to have fixed about 30 ...

Midland lure swap
There will be another pre-season lure swap held in the greater Midland area this year. Turnout was much better than expected last year, so we've moved to accomodate. An email was sent out last week to the area fisherman that we have addresses for, but ALL are welcome. Here are the details: Saturday ...

That's a bummer, but to be expected I suppose. After reading this thread last week I put in the ole mindcrime disc for kicks. What a dandy. In the words of Geoff Tate it takes me "...back to a time when I was younger..." Has been inserted back into the CD changer for a spell. Currently spinning alon...

One thing that Will's post reminded me of- the one complaint I have about Stealth is that it only comes in hi-vis yellow and moss green. Compared to other lines, the stealth takes a looong time to fade to that light grey-green-white color that I love. Luckily it lasts forever due to it's tight packi...

They changed the actual line formulation slightly, went with a tighter weave, then added a teflon coating. At least that's what I was told when I sent a spool of 100 lb whiplash back in (I experienced the break offs that you mentioned)...it was replaced with stealth and haven't had a line failure si...
