Re: Muskegon and Mona Lakes
I agree, that would be some unbelievable growth from the stocked fish. I suppose it could be a natural GLS or a Green Bay fish decided to swim East and take up residence in Mona. I have seen several pics from Muskegon & Spring Lake/Grand River and the fish all looked healthy and well-fed.

Re: Muskegon and Mona Lakes
I spoke with a property owner on Mona a few weeks ago. He mentioned to me that a walleye angler caught a muskie near his house recently. When I asked how big it was he said 51 inches. Also that it was a Great Lake Spotted Muskie and the angler had shown him pics from his phone. Although it’s easy to...

Re: muskie story
Great article Duke! Thanks for sharing in the forum. I usually check out the fishing mags when I go to Meijer, but I just haven’t been out as frequently as usual. I’ve been on the lake 4 times the last 2 weeks bass fishing, but I’m thinking this week will be the week I actually get out and target mu...

I haven't been at this muskie game very long but I've never disengaged the spool on a figure 8 & I have yet to lose a fish on the 8. Granted, I haven't caught a ton of fish boatside. Perhaps it is something I should consider but it seems that with the newer & longer rods available and if the drag is...

Muskies helping out again!
This was taken from a post on muskiefirst.com. For the entire article go here: http://www.prairiestateoutdoors.com/index.php?/pso/article/monster_crappie_out_of_kinkaid_lake/ While many observers have been waiting for Kinkaid to produce a record muskie, the lake also has a very good crappie fishery,...

Battery Storage
I should have asked this question back in December. My boat has an on-board charger and is stored in my garage in the off-season. I was told by a mechanic that it would be fine to leave my on-board charger plugged in over the winter. I also have 2 spare batteries that I keep in the basement. I have ...

Hey guys, I purchased the components for steel leaders and will be getting some fluoro/crimps/springs to make some fluorocarbon leaders as well. I know that I have seen the bending "tool" that I believe Hemi purchased from Cabelas in order to bend the steel around nicely to finish off your leader. I...

Jeff, great looking boat. One more month and you'll be getting your first Michigan muskie C.P.R. It's going to take an awesome fish to replace your current avatar. I'm wishing I still had my 18' Four Winns Fish/Ski that I sold last year because it sure beats nothing. I have 4 weeks to score on a boa...
