Boat for sale

Hello all, I posted some information regarding my boat, Crestliner 1750 Fish hawk with 80 Yamaha 4 stroke, in the "Not Muskie" part of the forum. I wanted to post here first before putting it out on the boat for sale sites. It's a great set up with lots of room for moving around and casting. Please ...

Cisco chain

Hey Fishead, I'll be heading up there myself in September. Have stayed on Thousand island lake and fished it on 3 separate week trips. I used to spend lots of time fishing the Vilas county area of Wisconsin in my early days of musky fishing so am familiar wit the area as well. Call me at 734-660-738...

IMO it's really a personal preference and whatever you feel comfortable and confident with and works for you. Personally, I don't ever freespool and simply trust my drag and rod. I may end up backing off my drag a bit after the intial hook set and tightening it again shortly after. This usually only...

I've owned several of the C4's many years ago and would not recomend them. The high speed gear ratio can't handle much abuse and breaks down fairly quickly. I had to keep replacing gears and finally gave up. IMO,they are just not beefy enough to handle musky casting all day long.

I had a pretty fun year musky fishing with a few nice fish boated. Enjoyed fishing a new lake and making some new fishing friends. Total fish boated - 31 - all casting Average size - 40.75" 2 fish over 50"...52" and 51" A couple of 48"'s and a couple of 46"'s from Ovid. One of the best memories - lo...

Swap Meet

I've decided that I really need to scale down a bit and need cash as well. I'll be bringing quite a few baits, a few rods and a few good reels for sale. Lots of new or "like new" baits. Bring your cash! [smilie=biggrin.gif]

I normally tighten my drag down fairly tight, not too tight, and loosen it if need be with a larger fish and haven't experienced any problems until this year. I'm not sure if it is just coincidence or not. Since going to a few of the longer rods this year, 8'6" and 9'3" okumas, which I really like, ...

I wonder if night fishing, even in higher water temps, is easier on the fish with at least the hot sun gone and not the max water temps of the day. The main problem with hot water is that is can't dissolve oxygen as well as cool water. It would seem to make sense that fishing at night with cooler w...

Bruce Becker has spent 30 plus years up there on the chain. I've never been out with him but have spoken with him several times on the lake while fishing and he seems like a good guy and knows that water very well.
