Aquatic Vegetation ID

Since this is the Education forum I guess this is the right place for this. I was thinking to myself yesterday while I was pulling weeds off my hooks that I had no idea what kinds of weeds they were and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only "weed moron" in the club. I was wondering what the chances of a thread dealing specifically with the common types of aquatic vegetation we encounter. I think it would be kinda cool to put a name to the face of the weeds we see. I'd also like to see info such as when and where they grow and even to what depths. Just an idea.
