Reel?

Post by Ross » Thu Mar 08, 2018 5:32 pm

Any opinion on the Daiwa Lexa 400 HD vs. Daiwa Lexa 300 HD. I prefer smaller/lower profile reels so I was thinking the 300, but wondered what others think before I buy.

there is a big difference in size between the two, so choosing one really depends on what you want to use it for. The 400 is big enough to only be necessary for the heaviest pulling baits, 300 is sufficient for the vast majority of stuff. But other people probably have different opinions!

300 will suit you well for most applications. The only application I prefer the 400 is for big bucktails. I only have the regular Lexas though so the HDs might be a different beast. I'm sure Will can chime in though along with a handful of other people on the board.

Agree with both of the above. I prefer the 300H for everything except big blades.

I have an hd 8.1 for screaming in small stuff.

Pretty sweet reel all around. Works great for lots of other baits you need a quick pickup on
