I'm kinda surprised this topic hasn't shown up yet. What are your goals or plans for the upcoming season?

I'll start with mine:

I'm hoping to get out more than once this year. Between work and three kids getting out has been tough the last few years. More than likely we won't be taking the boat on our annual UP trip so there goes 17 days of possible fishing. My plan at this point is to hopefully wrap up turkey season early and get a trip in late May somewhere close, thinking Campau maybe Murray. Next I'm hoping for one maybe two trips to LSC, mid June and sometime in August.

I like to set attainable goals each year and this year, like most, I'm keeping it simple:
- Put Tyler on his first 50" casting
- Put a 60" or 60#er in my net

I would just like to get out a little more than last year. I hardly fished from August on. Maybe only a few trips, hoping to consistently fish the entire season other than my yearly trip to canada

Just one musky goal, and that's to catch, or at least see, one on an unmentionable body of water with a very small population that I have recently discovered.

Goal one is to catch a fish on a body of water that I've never got one on before, hopefully in the North West part of the state.

Goal two is to prove to the DNR they made a mistake on Big Bear.... Two goals one fish

3 goals for me this year.

Goal #1 is to catch my new PB (which in my case would be my 1st 50+ incher since my current PB is that mystical 49.75" muskie) and for it to not come from LSC.
Goal #2 is to catch a fish on 1-3 new bodies of water and I have the 3 bodies of water I would prefer already in mind.
Goal #3 is to get someone (either my wife, dad, brother(s), friend(s) or all/some of the above) their first muskie casting.

Catch bigger fish this year. Plan is to focus more on spots where the big girls should hang out. Last year too much time was spent on what I now know are marginal areas and as a result all my fish were 38" or less. Also will be more flexible on fishing times. As I tend to be a morning person would usually go out for a few hours in the morning so need to go out more afternoons and evenings during what are supposed to be peak windows.

My goals are pretty simple.. Personally would like to catch a 50+ on the antrim chain, also would like to catch one out of the inland waterway. It's funny how when you get into musky fishing a legal fish seems like a prize, then its 45, then 50, then a natural 50, then one not in LSC... I might get a replica someday [smilie=bangtard.gif] Anyhow, for my other goals, I have set up my 9 year old with a casting rod, and picked up some great options at the banquet that he can handle, so getting him a fish casting is next up. Also we started a tradition/goal of trying to get a master angler patch for the species that correlates with the patch each year. This year it is smallmouth bass, we will give it a go on the chain in june, but might have to make a fall trip or two to get it...

After not having fished muskie for a few years, and only landing a couple the year I did my goals are small and simple: Catch a legal sized muskie, and catch my first Great Lakes strain on LSC. I'm getting antsy for the season to arrive.
