so im planning on building my own leaders but have a few questions. First the gear im going to be using. 124lb tooth proof wire, owners solid unbreakable ring(150lb), owner hyper wire split ring(120lb), and a spro power swivel(120lb). my question is how to put the thing together? do you just twist the wire around itself (haywire) and if so how many times? I just feel like it wont hold good, but then again, i have no experience with wire. Also I read that a little super glue around the tag end and over the twist helps so the line doesnt get stuck in it, or should i use a sleeve? Pictures would be helpful, I have been looking all over for some good pictures and just cant seem to find any.
Thanks in advance for your info.

Do you have a wire twisting tool at all, like a Dubro EZ twist?

It might take you a little to get it down, but it is pretty easy after getting the hang of it. I use a small round nose pliers to make my bend and then basically follow this video:

I don't do as many twists/wraps as he does, but you definitely can if you want to.

Many people use a barrel wind with solid ring swivels on one end, like this:

On the other end I put a solid ring like the Owners you have, and attach a split ring to that. Like this:

I use the Dubro tool for the barrel twists, but you don't have to. I use round-nose pliers for the loop.

Here's a video:

thanks for all the replys! That picture helped alot. I have an old lure making tool, used to make trout spinners, that should work great. Any prefered length? I was thinking around 8-9 inches?

I usually make mine 11-13" or so.

Most likely will want to go longer that that. Like Hemi, I make mine around a foot long.

Also, With Your Tag End, When You're Done Wrapping, Just Take A Needle Nose Vice Grip And Spin A Couple Times. The Tag Will Break Cleanly Flush With The Wraps.

Just to second what the boys have said already- definitely go longer (foot or so) and twist or bend off the tag end because it gets much closer and cleaner/snagless than nipping it off.
