Indiana Lakes Closed
Webster Lake and Tippecanoe are closed to boating until flood waters recede.
Statement as of 10:44 AM EDT on March 16, 2009
The Flood Warning has been extended for the Tippecanoe river near Ora
* until Saturday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9 am Monday the stage was 14.4 feet and slowly falling.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will fall below the 12.0 foot flood stage around 2 PM Friday March 20.
* At 14.0 feet... extensive flooding of residences and low lying areas begins.

There are four of us thinking about fishing in the Webster Lake Ice Out Challenge. We have not signed up yet. What is your thought regarding the lake and the flooding by the time of the event?

According to Chae and Bill Brummet (?) Tippy and Barbee are closed. Webster is open.....

WARSAW, Ind. - The state Department of Natural Resources has reopened nine lakes in northern Indiana's Kosciusko (Koss-ee-OSS'-koh) County to motorized watercraft.
The lakes were closed March 16 because of unusually high water levels. The DNR said Friday the threat of flooding has passed.
The affected lakes were Tippecanoe, Oswego, James, Big Barbee, Little Barbee, Irish, Kuhn, Sechrist and Winona.
