you usually do it because when u hook a fish on a figure 8, so it has room to run and not go crazy boat side with the chance to lose the fish. Otherwise u have given it no slack without the thumb bar depressed. I can usually press my thumb bar quick enough if i do hook a fish, but some people prefer...

I agree with the drunk or idiotic people taking forever to get their boat out of the water, but that same thing happens wayyy too often at murray. Most of the time murray must be avoided on the wkends, or even some wkdays people just tie up their boat or sit at the launch strapping up their oversize...

that "expert" is more an a clown than an expert..

And i mentioned the thread because most of the reels mentioned in that thread are your best option for a low profile reel if you're going to get one.
