I see geese with small goslings going wherever they want on Ovid. I haven't noticed any fear on the part of the geese to be out far from shore with their little ones.

I believe you owe MMA $10,000 [smilie=biggrin.gif]
Wrong, fishbreath! I didn't get any fish in the net; Slinger did. [smilie=tongue.gif] I did move two fish, though.

Do you need a state park sticker to use the new entrance? No. If you haven't yet bought a Recreation Passport for your vehicle, you may not need to until you register your car with the Secretary of State this year. See the following (read the row for May): http://www.michigan.gov/documents/dnre/com...

Right now, all NOAA says is, "Partly sunny, with a high near 77."

I'll take that. [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]

Coast Guard approved Vessel Safety Check, for free.

Just as I was putting in at Ovid today, a guy pulled up in the parking lot and put a big sign on his truck offering free vessel safety check for your boat. Turns out he was with the US Power Squadron ( http://www.usps.org/ ), an international volunteer (I believe) organization which is trained and a...

I'll be there. We weren't able to get the room up front, so look around for us. I'm not sure what most of you all look like so if you see someone with GL muskies hoodie on wandering aimlessly lead me the right way. [smilie=attention.gif] If Duke's going to be there, just look for a high density of ...

What Duke said! On my Pfluegers, it's damn near impossible to release the spool with a crazy fish on the line putting tension on the mechanism. If you wait until you've hooked a fish, it may be too late.

That's a good idea.

You can also nail-knot a small length of braid onto your line about 3 feet above the leader; you can feel it when it hits your tip guide even with your eyes closed, and slow just in time to keep your swivel from jamming into the rod tip.

I've got a couple of 9' Cabela's Dipsy rods that work pretty well and stand up to a hard-pulling muskie lure at 4-5 mph. Plus, for a down-rod I've got an Ugly-Stik heavy Tiger rod (BWC2202) which is amazing. None of these cost me more than $60. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Rods/Tro...
