Im not one for trying to let the fish play out in the water and get it tired. Ill fight any fish till it is ready for the net.. Then IF it does go nuts in the net, I have hook cutters and just cut the hooks almost everytime if i have too. That way in a few seconds the fish is free and untangled.

i usually have my line tight on hook set, then loosen it accordingly depending on the size of the fish.

yea too hot for me to fish, going to canada friday anyway.. hopefully cool when i get back.

Any tigers from 91 would most likely be dead, they only live like 7-10 years. Someone correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure that is the case.

You can buy a padded mat from menards that you could easily cut to size, they have holes in them so they wouldn't trap moisture under them either.

A lot of the pikes in Canada have some great colors. Noticed last year on Eagle a lot of the pikes we caught, some of the larger ones had some beautiful colors like the first one chad posted but brighter whites.

lol im with Duke, you never really realize how uninformed people are who actually fish, when it comes to identifying other species.

That is actually sad and makes you think how many idiots may mistake a musky for a pike and keep it without ever knowing.
