It looks like my sons are going to a birthday party so it will be just me for this event. Does anyone know how serious they are about opening the gates at 8 a.m.? I would like to be on the water at first light if possible and if anyone knows if we can get on the water earlier than 8 a.m. please advi...

I check out a lot of people on: http://www.resellerratings.com If he is on there you can see some information about him. My experience with anything that seems to good to be true is that it usually is. The good components that are required to hold up to a musky cost money and you get what you pay fo...

Suckers

Does anyone know a place to get large suckers for live bait fishing? I have been interested in trying this and Cabela's has some that are about 6"-7" but I am looking for some larger ones. If anyone knows of a place near Toledo or Detroit please let me know.

I was out on St. Clair last year with the guide Steve Kunnath and we lost a 48"-50" fish that was half in the cradle and then went crazy. That's musky fishing but I'll stick with my net in the future. I talked to Steve at the Banquet, and he said he was not going to be using the cradle anymore.... ...

I like the fishing Hotspots map and it has GPS grids on it and it is waterproof. If you have GPS you can mark the spots you find fish and keep a diary of the seasons. They also have a Detroit River map if you want and at the next MMA meeting you might be able to get some ideas from some of the guys ...

I use almost all left hand retrieve bait casters but grew up trout fishing on the east coast and it was hard to change. For me the transition was hard because no one showed me how to do it and I learned the hard way. I have listed some general rules that I learned and some good websites to get start...

I have the 8" spreaders but I just ordered the 10" ones from Thorne Brothers and I just figure you can't have too many pieces of release equipment. I bought a pair of the Knipex cutters and they are great but expensive. I really don't want to lose these cutters and when working on a fish in the net ...

What are you afraid of, Steve? I've been using SpiderWire Stealth and like it a lot. It's moss green, but SpiderWire just came out with "Ultracast Invisi-Braid" which is more like translucent/white in color. http://www.spiderwire.com/prod.php?k=74406&sk=74406&u=SUIB-125 Also Berkley has Fireline Cr...

If I can give you a little advice "Do Not Go Cheap". As you can probably imagine musky fishing puts A LOT of stress on your equipment so just make sure you use quality equipment. If I were going to buy one rod and reel to cast various lures-cranks, spinners, bucktails... I'd go with a St. Croix Pre...

I just booked a trip to Andy Myers Lodge in LOTW and the guy that runs the place, Steve, recommended the new super braid Spiderwire Invisabraid. I have the link listed below and Steve was on a team of people that worked in the development. I also noticed Pete Maina talking about it on one the the Ne...
