I look at the reels but also the place that I purchase is very important as well. I buy most of my equipment at Cabela's and any issues I have are always addressed quickly and fairly and I my experience with Okuma and Shimano have also been very positive.

I went to Eagle Lake this year and they have some monster fish and we saw an average of 15 fish a day and we had a 55" muskie at the boat....some real monsters in that body of water.

I used the 80 lb Invisabraid this year instead of my Power Pro and I liked it but I also think Power Pro is still good stuff.

Sounds weird but I went to a LL Bean fly fishing school years ago and the way you think you actually cast vs what you see on v...

I would assume that this thing is similar to a Dawg but I don't have any Dawgs so I wouldn't know. I spent most of the time I used it jigging it de...

Some more information would help:

1) What's your budget?

2) What are you going to use the reel for?

3) What ratio are you looking for?

4) What rod are you going to put this reel on?

Hemi, I think my boat is about the same size as yours, 16.5' and a 50HP Merc and you just need to use common sense. I fish LSC with some flexibility and watch the weather reports closely. I fish within 3-4 miles of the many launches and have a small hand held (see link) VHF radio that I listen to an...
