So what you are saying Mike is you have netted green fish that subsequently injured themselves, and that if you had tired them out further before netting it would have been a healthier release? Discussion like this is the reason I posed the question, its good. Personally, I have concluded getting th...

One very interesting difference, and a fortuitous one I'd say, between pike and muskies is that they behave so differently once netted. Pike seem to be vengeful- they seem to save all their energy during the fight for the moment they're in the net or especially when you begin to reach for the hooks ...

How do you land your muskies?

Just curious how you all run your muskie business? Good handling and release tactics should never be taken for granted!

Tigers are not so much said to reproduce in Vieux Desert as they are known to be reproduced there at a relatively high rate. Just so happens the habitat is conducive to finding the muskies and pike spawning in the same areas and at overlapping times moreso than in most other lakes. Although it is tr...

Good luck in your quest! That is truly a trophy hunt of long odds and a great degree of difficulty, but never say never or that something is impossible with nature. Just to give that Bigfoot-esque sliver of a possibility, even beyond the elderly planted fish, there is also a very small percentage of...

Lure Collectors- auction notice

I am not a collector but someone alerted me to this, and even in my ignorance can recognize the gold mine that will be available at this auction in Big Rapids on Saturday. From this website click on the "Auction Calendar" link, and then the "Russ Lewis Auction" link at the top. Loads of hunting and ...

I have a foolproof solution for you- you line me up a job in Gladstone and I will be there tomorrow and solve all your lone ranger problems! Seriously I totally agree how handicapped you feel when fishing alone for covering water, and for varying presentations to see what's working, not to mention h...

Tom,
Do you honestly think the 4,000,000 current NRA members are all Rambo mercenaries, militia members or assault rifle activists??? Give me a stinkin break. The NRA supports HUNTERS, because overwhelmingly that is what their membership is made of.

I submit that the true DNR haters probably can't read. Might need an elementary teacher to dumb down those words, then read it to them

Actually its a Meat Puppets song that was performed by Nirvana for their Unplugged album. I'm not a total grungie, but Nirvana was good! I like the song, I take it to be the unspoken battle cry of the extremist environmentalists- and by that I only the types who typify the "Who needs action when you...

This thread and the articles posted concern the dioxin 'hot spot' and nothing else. Each merely report the results of scientific analysis, which happen to be contradictory, nothing more.

Stupid-sensationalist-sky-is-falling-idiot media. Jumped all over the dioxin 'hot spot' story, there were only about 8 billion articles regurgitated in every possible newpaper about that. But how much publicity has this gotten?: 'Hot spot' not so hot http://www.mlive.com/news/saginawnews/index.ssf?/...
