Is the ice gone?

I pass a few small ponds on the way home, and it looked to me like they were all open water this afternoon.

Can anyone confirm? (Not that it matters much since we have 25 more days of agonizing waiting, left... :-x )

Yeah, that knot is simple, and amazingly strong, and Chad's leaders are impressive. I'm going to forego making more until I get the solid rings I ordered from Thorne Bros. today. I also found some seamless SS rings at Cabela's, but they don't say how big they are, nor how many you get! Solid rings a...

I'm guessing here that the pair with fuses in BOTH + and – are for the starting battery; the pair with just the + fused will be for the trolling battery. The extra fuse in the starting battery circuit is prolly to protect the external charger from the charging system in your motor, and keep the moto...

Where do you get them? BTW: the one in my pic is made with 100# fluorocarbon, and I used the knot below (which I found on www.thenextbitetv.com); it's a big PITA to tie, but it's neat and leaves the fly-end right up against and parallel to the leader's axis, which should reduce it's snagging on weed...

Those are some interesting crimp connectors on the mono leader. Can you tell us about them?

I still favor steel leaders with split rings but you've got a good system there. I would upgrade the snaps to Stringease snaps. They are the really tough snaps. Thanks. The others I've made so far have had split rings on the snap end. That way I can easily change the snaps, or do without them compl...
