A word of caution- muskies are the demon fish for good reason! The majority of the time they are not cooperative and will frustrate you. You do have to enjoy follows, and consider that a form of success. But in clear water and with pressured fish, it can be VERY tough to get them to snap. You can be...

Hey Jason- it was great to be out there pitchin plugs in Michigan again! Weather was extremely pleasant, and favorable for making for active muskies too. I only got to fish on Saturday, but I need to get back out there soon because with the early spring this year those fish are in full swing right n...

Old Stand By- the problem is I don't know which one! I wish I knew what the water temps are going to be... they were steaming but now we've had some cold nights. We should be post spawn most everywhere though for the most part, I guess. Will probably start out shallow hoping for the best there, twit...

Whoa, hey, how's that for a WELCOME Dale??? Good to hear from you again anyway! This year and 2004 had the same thing down there. Not last year, and nothing to the extent of 2006 and 2004 before that. Not cause for panic but definitely CONCERN and hope to be able pinpoint exactly what is the cause o...

They're ok.

Its not like I spend any time thinking, dreaming, scheming, or obsessing about them. And I hardly spend any money on paraphernalia that has anything to do with that silly fish, let alone spend any money pursuing them or actually trying to catch one.

WOW thats a bit of a shocker. No question, in its day (15 years ago??) Mindcrime was the baddest thing going! Too bad they wasted all those years in between on the opera ballads, but I'm sure that made them rich... will have to give it a try though

I have tried TUF, TUF Plus, PowerPro and Whiplash which was replaced by Stealth. Of these, Stealth is my personal clear favorite for its smoothness vs. the rope-like PowerPro for instance, its coating that makes it stiffer, and it has a little smaller diameter for its break strength. For these reaso...

Hey Mike- sounds like you have your reel handle problems taken care of, BUT if you want to swap something for your single handles bring 'em to the banquet! I'd be more than happy to swap double handles for them

Hmmm, don't think my post was a Leech fish RULE rant, nor did I foresee it going that way anytime soon. Anyway, double-checking what I did say, notice I only said Wisonsin is not going to cure their Minnesota-envy by planting 3-5000 muskies per year, for 3 years so far, in a system that covers 165,0...

Not to burst their bubble, but they are never going to "rival the trophy musky lakes of northern Minnesota" if they are stocking at that rate!?? 3-5,000 per year for a system that is roughly the size of St. Clair? Not to mention they also have the problem of stocking Michigan GLS muskies which have ...

I'd have to call it a great year, no complaints but nothing earth-shattering either. Put a good number of fish in the net, and no heart breaks on the big girls. Made our first pilgrimage to NW Ontario, it turned out to be everything I dreamed of all these years. The 48 there that turned out to be th...
