Re: Fish of 1000 casts

I'm late on this and just seeing it now. ...GREAT article! Thank you, Duke. Very glad to see this article out there, but, gosh I can't stand it when people call muskies "aggressive". I think people actually mean "powerful". "Aggressive" is quite the opposite of a muskie. Anyway, what is much more im...

Not that there's anything wrong with walleye - just the potential for misinformed walleye fishermen to heap blame upon another species...

Not a really big lake by any means at only 350 acres. We should be sure to note the already unsatisfied people who fish there so in 15 yrs they can't blame it on the muskies. http://www.fishingworks.com/lakes/michigan/otsego/johannesburg/big-bear-lake/ Great point. ...Note the significant walleye s...

Thanks for your efforts last Saturday, Duke. All of us who love muskies are grateful to see someone putting in the time to help steer kids - and adults - in the right direction when it comes to Michigan's single most exciting fish. ...And it's good to see someone who can handle the endless "how big ...

Gosh, the guy just seems to have it in for muskies sometimes. Wouldn’t it be nice to have some other notion about ‘progress’ preoccupy him – such as opening spearing for some of our other species, as so wonderfully suggested in a previous thread on this forum. …Nope, always seems to be about killing...

Re: Muskies helping out again!

"Before the muskies came along those gizzard shad got 8-12 inches long, far too big for a crappie to eat. But the muskies target the larger shad and that leaves more little ones for the bass and crappie and walleye." I'm not sure this is exactly true, and I'm not sure this is the mindset we really ...

Is there any inkling out there, anywhere, that maximum size limits might have a chance someday?

Leyland put them into position to win. The players didn't get it done.

...And there is always something evil or stupid happening in the Metrodome.
