Re: Muskegon and Mona Lakes

There are fishable numbers in both lakes albeit in pretty low numbers. Lots of food of various species, fish are growing fast.

There are already 40-45" (maybe bigger) from previous stockings started in 2012. Some of the fish from this years stocking could be over 40" in 5 years.

Re: Webster lake

I was down at the IMC and spent Thursday and Sunday on Webster. Thursday we saw a lot of fish of all sizes and caught 3 small ones. Sunday was tougher, moved a handful of fish with one 42-44" class fish in 40 foot of water but no takers. Jason summed it up well as the deep basins or the deeper edges...

Re: 2017 Indiana Musky Classic Results.

It was a good time for sure. I do feel a bit traumatized from dealing with 3 days of downpours and gusting winds. The fishing was miserable and head scratchingly bad too...until Brian caught a 51". Good to see the Michigan boys kicking some butt again!

how old they will be when they hit 40"? I don't expect them to grow as fast as they would on some of the southern Michigan lakes so my guess on that particular lake is it will take 6-7 years for the fastest growing females of the group to hit 40". First year classes on new lakes are hard to predict...

No box at Diane but you should still report fishing trips on the online survey for all muskie waters in 2015.

Teal Lake Marquette county

Explanation from the DNR newsletters on why Teal lake was chosen for stocking. Will be interesting to see if small numbers of stocked muskies can control the white sucker problem there. The reasons for stocking lake margrethe were similar. Teal Lake muskellunge stocking (Negaunee): The management of...
