Re: 2016 Goals/Plans

Just one musky goal, and that's to catch, or at least see, one on an unmentionable body of water with a very small population that I have recently discovered.

Also…

MMA has made it easier than ever to purchase tickets for early registration by making an online purchase option available.
Even better, thanks. I must have missed that before

I will have to take the the blame or credit for that depending on your point of view. I have been pushing Jay to change the closing dates for Round and Bankson to be the same as the statewide dates. The term "possession season" is a little misleading in this case as they are currently under the sam...

I'm definitely going to try to make it to the Kzoo meeting. Jay Wesley posted this on another site about the topics of discussion for the Kzoo meeting: "Change northern pike and muskellunge possession season to the last Saturday in April to March 15th on Lake Brownwood, Bankson Lake, and Round Lake ...

Nah, I just told them I taught him everything he knows. Although if any of them fished with me this last year they would know that's not true.

Looking to buy a new rod for bull dawgs anyone have any recommendations? . The 9'3" Okuma EVX rod is a great rod for mag-dawgs and can be used for pounders. I have two of these. One of them is a H and it is great for small (regular) dawgs and the mag dawgs, but that's about as heavy as you would wa...

Like Will said, too many to count and I haven't even been at this anywhere near as long as him or many guys. I'm actually shocked when I hear a non muskie fisherman comment on a musky they saw and they don't claim it to be 60"+. There isn't many or any other fish species that brings about more ridic...

It sounds like you have the right baits to start. Like Jason said, three trips on an inland lake without a musky is not actually that bad. I would definitely look at a stronger leader. I personally do not care for Fluorocarbon or Mono but it will work if you go heavy enough, at least 135lb, although...

Awesome, thanks to all who made it there. Im real sorry I couldn't go to try to help out. If you didn't make it they said that public meetings are only one of the many things they take into consideration. I would definitely drop them a email in support of restoring the natural GLS population in Gun...

would love to see more lakes with muskies around Barry county lets do gull lake next! Not a chance. LOL. Gull's got some pretty big Pike. Heard of some up to 46". The suspended muskie fishery there would be sweet though! Gull is a phenomenal pike lake, by far my favorite/best ice fishing lake. We s...
